Organized Chaos...

Now that I am finally finished with school, I am ready to have a real-world, big-girl office space! This probably would have saved me headache and tears during my schooling...balancing my laptop on my lap while laying in bed probably wasn't the most efficient or ergonomically correct way to study.

Anyhow... I have been scouring the web for images that will inspire me to create my own quiet, creative corner. I have little room to work with in terms of desk space, so space saving options are ideal at the moment. Here are a few of my ideas...

I NEED THIS CHAIR!
The Mix of the clear, clean lined chairs with the distressed wooden desk space is beautiful.

The buttery look of these chairs make it feasible to sit comfortably and get to "work."
After checking out West Elm, I put together some key pieces that create the mood I am aiming for. I am loving the designer collaborations they are featuring right now! The below pillow cover and wall art are part of the Lourdes Sanchez collab.

MonoCHROME...

OOOHHH Shiiiiinyyyyy... so I am kind of obsessed with the following images and just thought I would share. There is just something about metallics and crystals...

my own version

I used a silvery pink base shade, by Sally Hansen called "opal chrome", and added nail art foil (brand unknown), topped it off with a top coat and voila! The effect is almost like a broken mirror....

Trending..."Flat-Form"

Acne s/s 2011
The "Flat Form" trend is hitting hard this Spring season and to be honest, I'm not quite sure what to make of it. Is it a wedge? Is it a platform? It looks to me to be on the verge of a snazzy, orthopedic, fashion nightmare. I have yet to actually try a pair on but the flatter factor is questionable.

The Madison Harding and Joe's interpretations of this style happen to be the most wearable versions IMO. The wooden heel, the multiple buckles and clog like styling speak to me. Although I am in limbo over this shoe silhouette, I cant help but be a little enticed by the extra boost these bad boys would give to my petite 5'3" frame.

What do you think of the flat form?

If any of these tickle your fancy, check out Solestruck or Shopbop their selection is the best I've seen...

Moody Monday: Creamsicle

The love affair all began with this recent purchase from a trip to Anthropologie...the burnt orange anorak jacket screamed my name immediately. The perfect light weight jacket for Spring. The color is what really caught my eye but the details are just as great. The drawstring waist creates an amazing silhouette, and the ability to go with almost anything is going to make itself a staple in my wardrobe all season.

I cant wait to pair it with a cream colored sequin number...love the juxtaposition this piece will provide with an evening get up .

After this purchase I have been enamored with all shades of orange...

Still Crushing...

Erin Wasson has been a girl crush for a long while now...the ombre hair that I secretly lust after for myself...her carefree style and bohemian vibe. Wasson's style is effortless and what girl doesn't want to look amazing without an ounce of effort. Love her, loathe her...you cant deny this chick is doing something right.

Happy Endings...

Yesterday was a whirlwind of a day with college graduation in full effect. I started the morning with a portfolio show that quickly transitioned into the commencement ceremony. In a blink of the eye I was sipping on a peach habenero margarita reflecting on the past four years I've spent working on getting to where I was at that exact moment. A girl with a college degree and head full of dreams. I've always been a girl with a head full of dreams but now I actually have the skills and knowledge to get to those goals. Starting today, I am officially packing a Bachelor Degree in Fashion Marketing from the Art Institute of Portland with me on my job hunt. Wish me luck!

ahhh...yes. yesterday was a good day. The most amazing part was all of the support of my family and friends that were there to share my special moment. Just when I thought my day couldn't get better it did. Before I knew it I was peering into a giant brown Louis Vuitton bag and pulling out the yummy contents inside...

Needless to say it was a happy ending to a happy day!

say hello to my newest handbag...the Damier Azur Speedy 35. It is gorgeous to say the least.

As I am sure you have all seen this clip of Louis Vuitton's 2011 Cruise Collection in Capri,  I couldn't help but post it. The sun. The location. The clothes. Perfection. I could really use a vacation right about now (as I peak out the window at the ever-looming Pacific Northwest storm clouds).
ENJOY!

"here lies Elizabeth...she lived"

I woke up to the morning news today with Elizabeth Taylor's image splashed upon the screen, before I was even able to focus my ears or eyes, I gathered that she had past away. So sad. I am not that familiar with her work in terms of movies and such...I wasn't even born yet when she was at her peak of stardom.

After watching and listening to past interviews, I realized that she was much more than a screen siren. She had a purpose, she took her fame and used it for the better, dedicating her life to the fight against AIDS.

This woman was a glamour icon, a heartbreaker, a femme fatale and a dedicated activist whose legacy will surely live on...

"Hot Girls Wear Glasses"

With an impending eye appointment in my near future, I have been noticing eyeglasses more and more. Do I need them? most likely not, but do I want them? well...sorta! For sometime now I have been uber jealous of those who get to don those neat little (pain in the ass i'm sure) objects that sit so perfectly upon the bridge of the nose.
I digress...

Of course it is news to no one that glasses have been taking center stage on both catwalks and street style blogs for some time now. The "Geek Chic" trend has been well over played in some opinions and frankly a little silly to others. Here in Portland the hipster crowd has been sporting the frames relentlessly (sometimes even without the lenses...really people?). Thanks to the ironically hilarious IFC series 'Portlandia' "hot girls" everywhere have been snatching up some non-prescription frames.

I would prefer mine WITH lenses, a touch of geek, a side of chic and a heaping helping of timeless perfection, hipster irony not necessary.

The Graduate...

Wow, I have a blog? Are you sure? Being it has been almost a year since my last entry I almost forgot about the Plumbucket. Funny looking back at old entries how trends have not changed much since the last Spring season...brights are still in, and well nudes are forever I guess...

Anyway, this is quite an exciting time in my life...graduation from college is upon me! Very surreal. All of the hard work, sleepless nights and unfinished projects that have been keeping my mind cluttered these past four years will finally come to an end. A new chapter of my life will begin and I plan to enter it as chic as possible, it's time to enter the world of impossibly chic workwear. Gone are the days of rolling sleepily into school wearing Uggs and a zippy...yes, I will admit this was my uniform on more than one occasion.

Here's to entering the workforce!

Currently loving Equipment blouses. They go from meetings to cocktails seamlessly...
