Bring On The Red Baby...

So lately I've been in a bit of a hair funk. I'm sure this happens to many. Lets just say I tend to get bored easily. Before I embarked on my journey in the fashion industry I had a short stint in the world of cosmetology, going to school for hair. While there I think I colored, teased, bleached and curled my way into damage central. Happy to say that my hair is back to its original shade (dirty blonde with a slight undertone of red). Just when I finally return to my roots (no pun intended), I am bored once again...this time I think im going to go full blown red.

I think red is the perfec shade for summer especially when the freckles start to show...

Friday's Favorites....

These past couple weeks have been crazy busy, hence the lack of posts. Friday's give me a chance to regroup and put together some of my favorite images and trends that I am coveting at the moment. This week, my faves happen to be big hair, tooled leather and polished stones...enjoy!
How amazing is this image? the hair, the makeup...I love it all! Any ideas how to recreate the hair? Suggestions Please!
Besides the crazy cool tooled leather clutch, I'm feeling those knit shorts as well, taking up crochet immediately!

Understated Elegance at the Met...

The Costume Institute Gala last night was full of hits and misses...One that stood out to me was the understated elegance and modern sophistication of Ginnifer Goodwin. Everything about her look was a "win" from her choppy crop top, down to her Aperlai heels and Kotur clutch...Goodwin's gown was Topshop Unique, (way to go Topshop!)  This cut out gown offers just the right amount of sex appeal and the jewel tone is heavenly!

The makeup was stunning! A pop of turquoise complementing her jewelry.

Who was your choice for best dressed of the evening?

Walking On Clouds...

Wide leg, crisp white, mid rise and oh so chic, I'm feelin' white pants this spring. White denim is a look that I don't think I've rocked since high school might I add. I think it's about time to try this trend again, this time I'm definitely opting for the wide leg version...A much more flattering option.

Trending...in the navy

There is something so "springy" about nautical inspired decor and fashion. The bold contrasting stripes always look so fresh, whether in the home or as clothing. Here are a few images that have been fueling this nautical fixation...

this trend inspired my recent F21 purchase: a navy and white striped knit maxi, it hugs the bod juuust right! and works surprisingly well on my short frame...

Shield and Shade...April Showers

Last week I was eager to find out that I was given the amazing opportunity to intern for one of the most preferred umbrella manufacturers in the U.S., ShedRain. They have manufactured umbrellas and rain gear for companies such as, Banana Republic, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and Gap among others. Although my love lies in "fashion," and umbrellas may seem a tad bit quirky, I have come to realize that these shielding and shading accessories can make quite the fashion statement themselves!

With various shapes, fabrics, designs and uses, ideas for umbrellas are constantly floating through my head...

I am almost ashamed to admit that I have never actually owned an umbrella, crazy being that I have been a Northwest dweller my entire life!
