Pastel Paradise...

I just returned from a quick stay in a much warmer place than my home, it was a welcomed heat wave that hit heard and in return caused me to catch a cold (due to the temperature change I'm sure). I decided to stay away from the internet for the duration of my trip and I must admit, after day 3 I began to have withdrawals. This made returning and seeing the mass amounts of inspiration running rampant on my fav blogs a treat within itself, I know what I'll be doing as I lay sick in bed today...

Although I don't really celebrate Easter, I will admit the pastel paradise that is the holiday leaves me yearning for everything pretty and pink...which normally is so not me, so against my will, I gave in...Enjoy!

Moody Monday: Desert Dreams...

I leave bright and early tomorrow morning for Arizona, it is a much needed trip, being that it appears that Spring forgot to hit the Northwest. I anticipate a relaxing week ahead of me with good food, good drinks, good company and the welcome appearance of the warm sun. So the packing begins...

Needless to say I'm in the mood for some desert heat...

What items would you pack for some desert fun?

"STOLEN" The Show...

Thursday night a friend of mine and myself ventured into the blustery rain pouring from the Portland sky to see Rachel Mara's Spring/Summer 2011 line titled "STOLEN." We arrived to a packed house of Portland's fashion elite. The crowd was a mixture of young fashionistas and fashionistos donning hipster/chic attire. A local band was playing electronica while the crowd swayed and chatted in anticipation. 

The show itself showcased Mara's vision interpreted into classic springtime silhouettes with modern watercolor pastel florals. My favorite piece is the peach dress with the chocolate and lime print...this color combo was beautiful...

The merchandising in this store is ridiculously good, lit, built-in shelves and limited stock create the perfect chic boutique atmosphere.

Listening To...Nico Vega

A couple of years ago I attended a random show at the Doug Fir Lounge in Portland, OR, I say random only because it was one of those nights that a friend and I decided to go to a concert that neither one of us actually knew the artist...Needless to say, it was the most fun I have probably ever had and I often look back at the night wishing I could repeat such awesomeness on a daily basis. 

Nico Vega was the band and Aja, the lead singer was the vocalist that stole my heart. Her voice is not only amazing but the lyrics are those that latch on to your brain and don't let go...

With a newly realsed CD this Spring, of their most popular hits as well as a Rod Stewart cover, I am hoping these cool cats plan a tour in the near future. If you haven't heard Nico Vega, you have got to take a listen...but don't blame me if you fall in love.

Friday's Favorites...

A few things I am loving this week...

 These snarky little onesies by Sik World are available at Moulé. The store is full of tongue in cheek items as well as uber-chic men's and women's apparel and footwear and awesome home decor and trinkets...BTW, the fashion show last night was a success...more pics to come!

 Dolce Vita sandals with a tassel zipper detail...and one of my favorite nail polishes, OPI "Suzi Says Feng Shui" it's a versatile shade of blue that works for every season. 

and my daily breakfast...cereal with strawberries and cinnamon, I'm addicted!

Future Faves...

I love ear cuffs at the moment but have never actually worn one, this vintage looking one available at Free People is so delicate and pretty. I am also loving leather skirts but not of the bondage variety, I am more into the looser, ruched waisted versions, like the one above, available at Shopbop. And as for that delicious looking margarita...(yes its 9am and I said delicious margarita) In T-minus 4 days I'll be on a little Arizona getaway surely sipping on these...possibly even at 9am.

Sneak Peak..."STOLEN"

Tonight, I am beyond thrilled to be attending "STOLEN" a fashion show showcasing Rachel Mara's S/S line held at Moulé, a fabulous boutique owned by the designer. Mara's designs are always chic, always timeless and always flatter the female body...

I'll have plenty of goodies to share come this weekend when I re-cap the entire event for you all...until then check out her S/S line from the LG Toronto Fashion Week!

Denim Obsessed...

I have been and always will be a jeans girl, maybe not so much a jeans and t-shirt girl (I prefer to dress my denim up) but nonetheless denim is my go-to closet stapel. With so many options this spring in terms of silhouette and washes, you can probably imagine I am in jean heaven. 

Without chanelling my Abercrombie highschool days, lightly destroyed skinny jeans matched with a crisp button up and heels is incredibly chic...and denim on denim?!!? Oh this, this makes me happy!
